The Myanmar parliament's two Houses began its 6th sessions respectively in Nay Pyi Taw Wednesday, more than one month after the end of the 5th session of the parliament made up of House of Representatives (Lower House) and House of Nationalities (Upper House). In his opening address to the Lower House session, attended by 397 MPs out of 429, Speaker of the House of Representatives U Shwe Mann called for joint efforts in implementing rule of law and peace. He tasked the parliament members with responsibility to help settle difficulties and challenges the country is faced with. The present parliament session will discuss important national plan projects and national budget for 2013-14 fiscal year and approve a taxation law among many important pieces of legislation, he said.
