National Constituent Assembly (NCA) speaker Mustapha Ben Jaafar asserted Tunisia's will to be open on to its international environment after its successful entry in a new stage where the Tunisians aspire to achieve the objectives of the Revolution. Receiving, on Wednesday in Bardo Palace, Russian deputy Foreign Minister Michael Bogdanov, he stressed the key role of civil society organisations, parties and labour unions in the success of the January 14 Revolution and the transition stage followed by the holding of transparent, pluralistic and democratic elections. He emphasised the importance of the stakes of the future and the efforts required from all parties as part of concord and consensus, notably for the draft of the country's new constitution. The talk with the Russian official, who is paying a working visit in Tunisia at the head of a government delegation, provided the occasion to discuss the Tunisian-Russian relations and joint will to further develop them, notably in the parliamentary, economic and cultural fields. For his part, the Russian official commended the success of the October 23 elections and the democratic transition process in Tunisia. The talk was attended by Russia's Ambassador in Tunis.
