Netanyahu brushes aside Iran\'s Rosh Hashana greetings

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Saturday brushed aside Iran\'s Rosh Hashana greetings to Jews. \"I am not impressed by the blessings uttered by a regime that just last week threatened to destroy the state of Israel,\" The Jerusalem Post quoted Netanyahu as saying. He said the Twitter posting by Iranian President Hassan Ruohani on Wednesday and the \"Happy Rosh Hashana\" tweet the next day by Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif should not draw away attention from Iran\'s ongoing pursuit of nuclear weapons. Rouhani\'s conciliatory message -- \"As the sun is about to set here in Tehran I wish all Jews, especially Iranian Jews, a blessed Rosh Hashana.\" -- contrasts with the stance of his predecessor, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who denied the Holocaust and called for the elimination of Israel.
