The deadly bombing attack on a trolleybus in the Russian city of Volgograd early Monday and claimed the lives of over a dozen of people have drawn wide global condemnation. "The United Arab Emirates condemns in the strongest terms this terrorist attack and calls for the need for concerted efforts of the international community to combat and address this menace, since it is deemed as a global phenomenon that threatens international security and stability," The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press statement. It also expressed its heartfelt condolences to relatives of the victims, government and the Russian people, and renewed the UAE's stance that rejects terrorism in all its forms and manifestation. At least 15 people were killed the suicide bombing attack in Volgograd, the second suicide attack to hit the city in two days. More than 30 people are known to have died in the explosions Sunday and Monday which targeted the main railway station and a public transport vehicle. In a statement, the Kingdom of Bahrain denounced the attacks and expressed full support to all measures taken by the Russian government to counter acts of terrorism and protect Russia's security and stability. The Kingdom offered sincere condolences to the Russian government and people and the families of the victims, wishing the wounded speedy recovery. Syria on Monday vehemently condemned the two terrorist acts which hit Volgograd city, southern Russia. An official source, the Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said that Syria strongly condemns the two terrorist blasts rocking the Volgograd city, southern Russia, yesterday and today. "Syria offers condolences to the friendly people and leadership of Russia for the causalities who were either killed or injured due to the blasts, expressing solidarity with and condolences to the families of the victims," the statement added. The official source said "Syria also expresses deep concern over the spread of terrorism internationally and the brutal crimes it causes to innocent citizens," urging the international community to combat this phenomenon, which has started to expand. The source called upon countries supporting terrorism to comply with the international resolutions and provisions of the international law, and to stop supporting this phenomenon. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry Nabil Fahmy sent a cable to the Russian counterpart to condemn the Volgograd blast and express condolences to the families of the victims. India sternly condemned the terrorist attack in southern Russian city of Volgograd. "India strongly condemns these terrorist strikes against innocent civilians. These attacks are a grave violation of human rights and an unconscionable crime against humanity. We stand resolutely together with the people of Russia in the face of these horrible acts of terrorism," Indian Prime minister Manmohan Singh stated in a condolence letter addressed to the Russian President. The Indian Prime minister said that India was outraged and pained to learn about the "dastardly terrorist attacks against civilians in the city of Volgograd." Italy also and Spanish government issued similar statements of condemnation. In Rome, Italian Foreign Affairs Minister Emma Bonino expressed deep concern and extended her solidarity to the Russian authorities in response to the attack. "My thoughts go out to the families of those who have so tragically suffered this terrorist act. We must keep our guard up and strengthen cooperation among intelligence apparatuses as the international scenario presents elements of fragmentation, especially along the southern shores of the Mediterranean and in the Middle East," the minister commented. In Madrid, the Spanish Foreign Ministry said in a press statement that "Spain strongly condemns the heinous terrorist attack." "During this time of grief, the Government of Spain sends its deepest condolences to the victims and their families, as well as to the people and authorities of Russia to whom it expresses its full solidarity and support in the fight against the scourge of terrorism, a phenomenon that must be fought with all the tools provided by the rule of law and international cooperation," it said.
