
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed here today between National Institution for Human Rights(NIHR) and the Ombudsman office at the Interior Ministry. The memorandum was singed by NIHR's Secretary-General Dr. Ahmed Farhan and Ombudsman General Secretary Nawaf Mohammed Al-Maawda. The MoU represents a framework that regulates the bonds of mutual coordination and cooperation in terms of establishing the principles of human rights, as well as exchanging experience, promoting and encouraging them so as to achieve shared purposes. The memorandum aims to promote mutual cooperation on spreading the concept of human rights and educating members of society through conferences, forums, workshops, and training programmes. NIHR's Chairman Dr. Abdulaziz Abul, Ombudsman deputy secretary-general Osama Al Asfoor, Deputy Chairman of National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) and Head of Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee, Abdullah Ahmed Al-Durazi and NIHR Communication Director Nawar Al Mutawa were also present.
