Just Russia chairman Nikolai Levichev proposed naming a united opposition candidate for Moscow mayoral election; he is even willing to quit the race himself, Alexander Ageev, head of Levichev’s campaign office, told Itar-Tass. The spokesman explained that Just Russia members propose to hold talks between all mayoral candidates in order to name the strongest one to run against acting Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin. “Levichev is ready to go all the way, but he’s also willing to work with others in order to secure a run-off election. He may withdraw himself from the race in favor of any other candidate except the one supported by the current rule,” Ageev emphasized. At the same time, he did not rule out that Levichev could become this united candidate. Moscow mayoral election is slated for September 8.
