Norway holds memorials for terror victims

Norway marked the two-year anniversary of the terror attacks in Oslo and Utoya that killed 77 people. A commemoration was held at the government headquarters for the anniversary Monday, and a memorial service was held afterward at the Oslo Cathedral. \"It is important for us to mark what happened, but the two-year commemoration will be a smaller and subtler ceremony to mark what happened on July 22,\" leader of the Labor Party\'s youth group Eskil Pedersen told NRK before the events. Norwegian secret police head Benedicte Bjornland urged pressure be put on Muslim leaders to speak up more against terrorism, NRK said. But Islamic Council Secretary-General Mehtab Afsar said their opposition to terrorism is clear. \"We believe in dialogue rather than to publicly condemn every situation in public. Of course we do that too, but it is important to understand that we have ongoing conversations with the youth that are perceived as problematic in the Norwegian society,\" Afsar said.
