Number of people changing residence increases 8.2% in December in Seoul

The number of people changing their residence increased in December from a year earlier, the state-run statistics agency said Tuesday, a sign the government claims shows its efforts to boost the slumping housing market are working. People changing their official residence came to some 701,000 in December, up 8.2 percent or 53,000, from the same month a year earlier, according to data provided by Statistics Korea.
