President Obama has a significant lead over presidential challenger Mitt Romney in Ohio and a slender edge in Florida, new polls Tuesday indicate. Among likely voters, Obama leads Romney by 52 percent to 44 percent in Ohio, and Obama leads in Florida by 51 percent to 47 percent. Among all registered voters in Florida, Obama is ahead by 9 percentage points, the poll by The Washington Post said. The new statistics come a week after a Washington Post survey showed Obama with a clear lead in Virginia. Over half the campaign money spent thus far has been focused on these three states, the newspaper said, adding that analysts believe Romney must win at least two of the three states to capture the presidency. The methodology of the poll and margin or error of the results was not given.
