Obama leads polls as elections approach

US President Barack Obama continues to lead opinion polls as the countdown continues for the US presidential elections. A new poll results, conducted Reuters and Ipsos and announced Friday, showed that the current President has a 7% over his rival Mit Romney. Reuters daily internet poll, normally done with a small sample, asked 990 people on the candidate they would pick if the elections were today. Some 48% said that they would vote for Obama, 41% said they were voting for Romney. The 7% gap represented a 5% increase for Obama, who earlier in September was holding a 46-44% advantage over Romney. More remarkably, when asked which of the candidate had a better plan for counter-terrorism, the gap favoring Obama grew to 14%. Some 39% of the people polled supported Obama\'s plan, while 25% supported Romney\'s. Romney had often criticized Obama heavily for what he said was a soft approach towards counter-terrorism. However, the poll revealed that more Americans were comfortable with Obama\'s approach than with Romney\'s, more aggressive one.
