Obama to make statement at 1800 GMT

US President Barack Obama will make a statement in the White House Rose Garden at 2:00 pm (1800 GMT) Thursday on the death of deposed Libyan dictator Moamer Kadhafi, the White House said. The president and senior US officials are yet to publicly react to the killing of Kadhafi and spent the morning trying to confirm reports that the longtime US enemy had perished in an assault on his hometown of Sirte.
