Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs Mahmoud Habash slammed the Israeli restrictions on the Islamic calls for prayer in a mosque in Burin, a village south of Nablus, Tuesday said a press release. Habash said the Israeli restrictions are racist, provocative, “completely unacceptable,” as well as part of the continuous Israeli occupation crimes and settlers’ attacks against Islamic and Christians holy places. He stressed that the Palestinians and the Palestinian Authority are legally and religiously responsible for the holy places in Palestine, saying that PA will face the racist decision in any means possible. Habash called on the Arab and Islamic nations to take practical positions against the Israeli escalations targeting Palestinians. The Israeli Supreme Court earlier restricted the use of the minaret of Burin mosque, preventing the village residents from using the last two meters for calls of prayers or hanging lights.
