Jose Beraun, Deputy Foreign Minister and Personal Envoy of the President of Peru affirmed his country's overnment's keenness on enhancing and developing bilateral relations with the government of the Sultanate of Oman in various fields. Addressing a press conference here today the Peruvian official said his current visit to the Sultanate of Oman is aimed at handing over Sultan Qaboos bin Said a letter from President of Peru Ollanta Humala containing an invitation to Sultan Qaboos to attend the third summit of the Arab countries and South American countries, due to be held in the Peruvian capital Lima in the second week of October . He explained that among the objectives of his visit was to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries in the fields of tourism, environment and natural resources and to take advantage of the Omani experience in how to set up economic projects in the energy and petrochemical industries, noting that his country has the components that can help the establishment of joint investments, such as natural gas, which is basic in the significant industrial projects. The Peruvian official noted that the Summit will discuss means to enhance areas of joint investment opportunities, increase the volume of trade exchange, cooperation in the fields of tourism, environment and energy resources . The Summit will also provide an opportunity for businessmen in the Arab countries and the countries of South America to explore the available opportunities in their countries and the establishment of bilateral projects that will contribute to the support of cooperation and to revitalize trade between their countries.
