Pakistan on Tuesday said that it would welcome foreign election observers after completion of due formalities. The assurance in this regard was given to foreign diplomats at a briefing organized here at the Foreign Office to inform them regarding the government’s policy and procedure concerning the foreign observers for forthcoming general elections, reported Associated Press of Pakisatn. Senior representatives of the Election Commission of Pakistan and ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior and Information & Broadcasting gave the briefing. The diplomats were informed that the government was committed to free, fair and transparent elections. They were assured that all steps would be taken to facilitate the foreign observers during their stay in Pakistan.
