Pakistani court rejects Musharraf\'s bail

The anti-terrorism court of Quetta city, southwestern Pakistan, has rejected the bail of former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf. Musharraf ruled the country for almost nine years and returned to Pakistan after four years of self-imposed exile to participate in general elections. However, the Election Commission of Pakistan rejected his nomination papers and Peshawar High Court imposed a lifetime ban on him to take part in elections. He had to face several cases including case of murder Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti. The Musharraf\'s lawyer filed an application for bail that was rejected by the court. Also Musharraf\'s plea to transfer the case to the Islamabad anti-terrorism court was rejected by the court and Balochistan High Court issued non-bail able warrants in Bugti murder case. Akbar Bugti\'s lawyer told media, \"Pervez Musharraf was repeatedly asked to appear before the court of law, but he failed to do so.\" Earlier, the court declared Musharraf under house arrest due to security concerns.
