A Palestinian woman tried to stab an Israeli policeman on an east Jerusalem street on Sunday, apparently in protest at a US-made film which denigrates Islam, an Israeli police spokesman said. "An Arab woman this morning tried to attack an Israeli policeman, who managed to control the situation and no one was injured," spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told AFP. "The incident took place close to Salah Eddin street. The women, aged 32, is from the Silwan neighbourhood. She was arrested and her knife seized," he added. "Preliminary questioning revealed she was attempting to protest against the film," Rosenfeld added, referring to the controversial "Innocence of Muslims," an anti-Islam film that has sparked violent protests across the Muslim world. The movie, an amateur production that went virtually unnoticed for months, was reportedly produced by a 55-year-old Egyptian Coptic Christian with a record for fraud who is currently on parole in the United States.
