The Palestinian leadership on Sunday disowned possible participation of Palestinian in a suicide attack against the Iranian embassy in Lebanon as an "individual act". Tuesday's double suicide attack, which killed at least 23 people, "was a coward terrorist act that only serves the enemies of our cause and our nation," said a statement issued jointly by the Palestinian presidency and the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). The attack was aimed at the embassy because Iran supports Lebanese Shiite militant group Hezbollah, which fights in Syria alongside President Bashar al-Assad, according to a statement by an Al-Qaeda-affiliated group. A second suspect in the attack was identified as Adnan Mohammed, who is a Palestinian national from the Ain el-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp, a Lebanese security source told Xinhua on Saturday. "The Palestinian leadership stands by Lebanon, its president, government and people in their fight against terrorist groups that have no religious, national or humanitarian loyalty," the statement added.
