Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas received Sunday a phone call from new US Secretary of State John Kerry, said Presidential Spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh. In statements to Palestinian news agency (WAFA), Abu Rudeineh pointed out that Abbas and Kerry discussed the need for holding meetings in the near future to consider required efforts to revive the peace process. Abu Rudeineh noted that US Secretary Kerry reiterated President Barack Obama's support to the Palestinian-Israeli peace process. He added that the US Administration is aware of the financial crisis that the Palestinian people are going through. Kerry also told President Abbas that he would make a Middle East tour soon to help jumpstart the peace talks between Palestinian and Israeli leaders, Abu Rudeineh said.
