Hundreds of Palestinian workers Wednesday demonstrated at al-Jalama checkpoint south of Jenin that separates the West Bank city from Israel to protest humiliating Israeli army measures, according to the workers. Workers told Palestinian (WAFA) news agency that soldiers manning the checkpoint throw coffee at them, verbally abuse and humiliate them and delay them for hours when they try to cross the checkpoint to reach their work places in Israel. Palestinian workers with permits to do employment in Israel normally arrive at checkpoints at a very early hour of the day knowing that it will take them hours to cross the checkpoint considering the long delays and humiliation they daily receive from the soldiers.
