
The government\'s plan vis-a-vis regional developments highlighted a meeting here Wednesday between the National Assembly\'s Foreign Affairs Committee and a team of seven ministers headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. Chair of the parliament\'s committee, House Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim, said that the meeting was called upon by Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid to review the government\'s preparations for an expected military strike in the Middle East region. In addition to the committee members, 24 MPs attended the meeting. Last Thursday, the cabinet held a special session under the chairmanship of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah to review regional developments. The Interior Ministry and other government entities were tasked to follow up on Middle East developments and look into measures to protect the country\'s security and stability.
