Philippines: ASEAN concerned about recent events in S China Sea
Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Foreign Ministers
Boracay, Philippines - Arab Today
Foreign Ministers of the Association of South East Asian Nations are worried about “recent developments” in the South China Sea and urged restraint and dialogue to prevent any escalation, the Philippine foreign secretary said on Tuesday.
“A number of ministers expressed concern over recent developments and escalation of activities in the area which may further raise tensions and erode trust and confidence,” Foreign Secretary Perfecto Yasay told a news conference after a meeting of his Southeast Asian counterparts.
“At the same time they noted the need to sustain the momentum of dialogue in order to ease tensions in the region.”
Yasay did not say which particular developments had provoked concern.
He also said ASEAN countries were hopeful a framework on a protracted code of conduct would be completed by June, and China too had shown it was keen for it to be completed.

to 'eternal style' of late Alaia
Paris - Emiratesvoice
Two months after legendary designer Azzedine Alaia's sudden death plunged the fashion world into mourning, an exhibition in homage to the "King of Cling" opens Monday in his studios in Paris. The Tunisian-born designer, renowned for the way his clothes hugged the body, died suddenly in November aged 82, reportedly of heart failure after falling down the stairs at his home. The diminutive maverick, who ignored fashion week convention by showing when and where he wanted, in July produced his first couture collection in six years to rapturous reviews. Now some of his most iconic dresses are going on display in the glass-roofed gallery next to his studio and home in the Marais district where he used to show his creations. It includes the dress worn by supermodel Naomi Campbell, his longtime friend and muse, when she led
