Planning and Administrative Reform Minister Ashraf el Arabi asserted that Egypt attached great importance to Africa, noting that Africa Agenda for 2063 showed that the continent would be able to achieve high development rates.
Addressing a conference titled "Africa Statistics Day 2016" organized by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Tuesday, Arabi said The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) is a strategic development partner for Egypt and has been supporting Cairo's development plans for a long time.
He said Egypt relied much on AfDB and other regional and international organizations to achieve its sustainable development goals for 2030 launched by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in February 2016 and prepared by a galaxy of experts, companies and international development agencies operating in Egypt.
He said Egypt has made preparations for working on the 2030 development strategy, highlighting the role of CAPMAS to conduct a census for the current fiscal year 2016-2017 upon which strategic plans for coming years would be outlined.
