Police free Spanish couple from Colombia kidnap

Two Spanish tourists kidnapped in Colombia were rescued by police Saturday as two people suspected of trying to collect a ransom were captured in Spain, officials said. Two Spanish officers from the nation\'s kidnapping unit traveled to Colombia and participated in the release of the tourists, AP quoted Spain\'s Interior Ministry as saying in a statement. The ministry did not give their names. The two from the northern Spanish city of Aviles had been kidnapped in Colombia a month ago. They were in good health, National Court Judge Fernando Grande Marlaska was cited as telling the station. It was not clear who was responsible for the kidnapping or whether anyone was arrested in the police operation in Colombia.
