Nigerian officials said police were outgunned by attackers who killed 25 people in a raid on a prison in Adamawa. The attack resulted in the escape of 127 inmates from the Ganye Prison and the death of the warden, Liberty Newspapers reported. Mohammed Ibrahim told reporters the attackers hit 13 targets, ranging from police stations and a bank to a pool hall. The attackers were well-armed and could not be corralled by Ganye Town police. Liberty Newspapers said none of the escapees had been caught as of Sunday. The identities of the gunmen were not known.
