Polish President Andrzej Duda called for a strong and unified NATO alliance on Wednesday amid a deteriorating security environment in Europe.
"We should avoid dividing the security alliance in north, south, west or east," Duda said in remarks in Washington, ahead of a NATO summit being held in Warsaw in July.
"Unity is a must," he added, dpa reported.
He called for the military alliance to be strengthened particularly on its eastern flank but stopped short of making specific requests for an increased presence in his own country on the alliance's eastern border.
