Representatives from Chinese peacekeeping forces on Friday gathered in north China to share training experiences prior to carrying out United Nations peacekeeping missions, military sources said. The event, which was initiated by the Ministry of National Defense (MND), was aimed at further standardizing pre-departure training for Chinese peacekeepers. The event featured an introduction to peacekeeping training, experience exchanges and a show of peacekeeping achievements and pre-departure training courses, according to the MND. The representatives watched video clips on peacekeeping missions produced by the Beijing Military Area Command at the gathering, according to the MND. Equipment used for 15 professional training items such as field survival, healthcare and detonation checks were also on display during the meeting. On Thursday, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said China has so far dispatched more than 20,000 military personnel, police and civil affairs officials for UN peacekeeping missions. China\'s peacekeepers have accomplished the tasks mandated by the UN and won recognition from the international community.
