
President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi received on Tuesday Director of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Office in Yemen the ambassador Saad al-Arifi. In the meeting, President Hadi highly appreciated the efforts of the GCC countries in supporting and assisting Yemen in the different conditions. He noted that the upgrading of the representation level of the GCC countries to the level of mission , which will be declared during the coming period, is another evidence of the attention paid by the GCC countries to Yemen, will positively contribute to supporting the coming phase of the Gulf initiative implementation. The president also valued the exerted efforts in the positive and effective preparation for the success of the meeting of the Friend of Yemen scheduled to be held in September in New York to follow up the donors pledges and what can be presented to Yemen for the success of the transition process under the Gulf initiative and the Security Council resolutions 2014 and 2051. For his part, al-Arifi praised the tangible successes that have been achieved by Yemen under the leadership of President Hadi in a short period of time, the most recent of which was the restructuring of the Interior Ministry. Al-Arifi said that Yemen is always present on the agenda of the GCC countries and all are carefully following the steps that have been done so far, conveying greetings of the annual consultative council of the GCC countries held recently with their European counterparts and discussed most of issues and successes in Yemen.
