
President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi received on Sunday Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Barbara Leaf, discussing bilateral relations, and other regional and international issues of common interest. They also reviewed the case of Yemenis detained in Guantanamo and ways of sending them back to their nation, rehabilitating and reintegrating them in community. Hadi appreciated the US support to Yemen’s transition under the GCC-mediated initiative its implementation mechanism, and the two UN Resolutions No. 2014 and 2051. He commended the efforts of the Group Ten states sponsoring the GCC-brokered initiative, pointing out that Yemen’s security concerns many regional and international states. The president cited that the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) was successfully concluded, praising the consensus and cooperation of Yemeni different parties. For her part, the US official conveyed the congratulations of President Barrack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry to President Hadi and the Yemeni people on the success of NDC. She affirmed that the United States will continue its support to Yemen in the areas of development, security, counter-terrorism and outcomes of NDC.
