Pro-Morsi demonstrations carry on in Turkey

Several groups from ngos and a political party staged protests in Istanbul and capital Ankara to protest the military coup and overthrow of Egypt\'s first democratically elected leader Mohamed Morsi. Members of Great Union Party (BBP) and Humaniatarian Relief Foundation (IHH) rallied in support of the ousted president near the Egyptian consulate general in Istanbul, while IHH and associations Mazlumder and Ozgur-Der gathered in Ankara. IHH Chairman Bulent Yildirim, who read a press statement for the meeting group in Istanbul, said the world was being \"deceived\" by the recent events in Egypt, citing an alleged American and Israeli influence over the unrest. \"Whatever the results are of this military coup attempt, it has united the Egyptian people,\" Yildirim said. \"If elections were to be held again, Morsi and his supporters would rise to power with 70% of the vote.\" Protests will continue in various provinces across Turkey, IHH officials say.
