The Tunis Court of appeal decided, on Thursday, that there are no grounds for prosecuting in appeal, in the case of illegal entry into the Tunisian territory, of General Khouildi Lahmidi, one of the key figures of the deposed regime of Mouammar Gadhafi, TAP news agency learnt from an informed source. The Public Prosecutor's department could refer the case to the Final Court of Appeal within a ten-day period from the date of the sentence pronouncement in appeal. Entering the Tunisian territory illegally, Khouildi Lahmidi was arrested last September 7 as he was readying to leave the country from the Tunis-Carthage International Airport, with a passport which had not been stamped by the border services.
