Some 10 people were arrested after illegally entering the Syrian embassy in Stockholm during a protest against the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad, Stockholm police said on Tuesday. \"Around 10 people were arrested for illegal entry and causing material damage,\" police spokesman Sven-Erik Olsson told AFP. \"At 10:09 am (08:09 GMT) we received a phone call informing us that unauthorized people had entered the Syrian embassy. We intervened at 10:16 am and at 10:23 am the situation was under control. No one was injured,\" Olsson said. According to police, more than an hour later some 30 opponents of the Syrian regime were still outside the embassy, located in the Stockholm suburb of Danderyd. A number of Assad supporters were also present. The demonstrators who were arrested were to be questioned by police before prosecutors decide whether to pursue the matter.
