Authorities on Friday finally allowed Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) to hold its first-ever public meeting at the ground of the Quaid-e-Azam mausoleum in Karachi on Sunday. The PTI has been permitted to hold the public meeting on the condition that it would not damage the property and would also not put hurdles for visitors on Dec.25, an official said. However, he said under the law, no one was allowed to hold rally at Mazar-e-Quaid or at the place that comes under its administration. Two days back, the Sindh High Court (SHC) refused to give permission to the PTI to hold the rally and asked it to approach the Mazar-e-Quaid administration for the purpose. But before granting permission to the PTI, police locked down the ground adjacent to mausoleum and barred PTI workers from entering it.PTI leaders and workers were expelled out from the ground and a copy of the SHC order was put at the main gate of the ground. PTI Secretary General Dr Naeemul Haq alleged that the Quaid-e-Azam Trust tried to halt the public meeting, adding that such conspiracies were hatched by the federal government.
