Russian President Valdimir Putin\'s discussions with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his phone conversations with US President Barack Obama did not address Syrian President Bashar al-Assad\'s fate, Putin Aide Yury Ushakov has stressed. The possibility of Moscow providing exile for al-Assad was not discussed during the conversation, said Ushakov. \"They did not discuss any destination,\" he added. Putin and Obama\'s call resulted in a better understanding of each other\'s positions on Syria, Ushakov said, adding that they still disagree on methods to resolve the crisis there. The fifty-minute phone call between Putin and Obama late Wednesday dealt with the deteriorating situation in Syria and the bombing which took place in Damascus, he remarked.
