Russia’s President Vladimir Putin greeted Belgium’s King Albert II and the Kingdom’s nation with the national holiday, the Kremlin’s press service reported on Sunday. In the telegram, the president expressed gratitude to King Albert II for the attention he had been paying to improvement of friendly relations between Russia and Belgium. Putin also congratulated Crown Prince Philippe on the accession to the throne and expressed confidence “the constructive Russia-Belgium cooperation, which has been traditional between the two countries, will continue to develop successfully in all basic directions to the benefit of the peoples of Russia, Belgium and entire Europe.”
