
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia must analyze the threats to its national security in light of the ongoing migration crisis in Europe and constantly monitor the situation with migrant flow from the Middle East and other regions.
"We are witnessing serious consequences of the practically uncontrolled refugee flows from the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan and other regions. They include the rise of crime, nationalist and religious conflicts, social tensions in general," Putin said at a meeting of Russia's Security Council according to Sputnik News Agency on Thursday.
"We must thoroughly analyze this situation and make relevant conclusions from the migrant crisis in Europe, adjust our actions in light of existing and potential threats," Putin said.
The president stressed that Russia must constantly monitor the situation with migration flows and take appropriate measures to block illegal migration channels, including by strengthening security at the Russian borders.
