Qandil: Government works on resolving complicated problems

Prime Minister Hisham Qandil said Friday that Egypt's problems are complicated and cumulative, but the government is working to resolve them. He stressed that some parties claim that they have a solution for all problems. "Since we assumed office, we have been planning and working in favor of Egypt's best interests. We have come a long way in resolving problems of butane gas, bread, tourism and investment," Qandil said in an initiative dubbed "Ask Prime Minister", a weekly meeting in which Qandil responds to a number of questions by the Egyptian people. "We are working now for ending problems of energy, security and imposing state's prestige," he said. Qandil added that the government's achievements do not cope with the aspirations of the Egyptian people due to the magnitude of the challenges at this stage. Asked about the absence of security, Qandil said his government is working to rebuild police and restore security in the Egyptian street. Concerning the unemployment rate that hits 13\\%, Qandil said that the government provided about 500,000 job opportunities over the past six months, but the problem has not been resolved yet. "To resolve the problem of unemployment, we are working on resolving the problems of investors along with attracting new investments into the country," he said. Qandil added that as many as 21 projects will be launched during the coming period and will provide thousands of job opportunities and support the ailing economic situation in the country.
