Qatar Charity (QC) has announced the distribution of food parcels to the new refugees near the border area between Burma and Bangladesh, as part of its efforts to aid the Muslims of Burma. Mohammed Al-Ghamdi , the Director of Local Development and the representative of Qatar Charity, who was in a field visit to the said refugees there said it is the second trip to Qatar Charity out there and which coincides with the campaign which was launched under the slogan “Burma … until pain is removed.” He explained that the field visit is aimed at extending emergency relief aid to the refugees, closely inspecting their conditions and touch the needs of humanity. He added that the strategy of Qatar Charity for the Relief of the Muslims of Burma based on the linkage with a number of partners from international charities in order to facilitate the delivery of aid to the Burmese inside and attempts to provide temporary shelter and shelter areas for them. The aforesaid field visit by QC had been preceded by a field inspection visit to the border of Bangladesh, conducted by Mohammed Al-Adsani, the executive director of the international operations, as part of a visit charities operating in the country. The delegation of Qatar charity during their field visit to the Bengali- Burmese border, had got acquainted with the deteriorating situation of Rohingya Muslims and in fact the human misery in refugee camps and the urgent and necessary relief needs that are needed by the most affected groups of the Muslims of Burma as a result of the escalating violence there. It is worth mentioning that Qatar Charity was chosen as a member of the Committee on Humanitarian Affairs and Community Development, which was recommended to be established by the emergency consultative meeting on the humanitarian situation for the Muslims of “Rohingya” . The establishment recommendation was adopted at the end of its activities in the Malaysian capital, and which was organized by the Organization of Islamic cooperation (OIC) in collaboration with Mercy Malaysia last week.
