Governor of the State of North Darfur Mohammed Yusuf Kabir has hailed the role played by the State of Qatar and its achievements that led to the restoration of security and stability in Darfur. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) correspondent in Khartoum, Kabir said Qatar has played an unprecedented and major role in the contemporary history of Darfur represented in the restoration of peace and stability due to its sincere efforts that took into account the interest of Darfur, a matter that created the real impetus to the progress and prosperity of the region. On the process of construction, reconstruction and development in the State of Northern Darfur, he said that the State highly values the role of Doha in support of this process, especially in the establishment of model voluntary-return villages. \"Qatar will play a huge role through the money allocated, which is estimated at two billion dollars, for the enforcement of development projects, a matter which will have an economic and social effect as well as positive impact in changing the life for the better in Darfur.\" Turning to the prospects for peace in Darfur, he pointed out that many indicators show the restoration of peace and the entry of the community to the system, and its refusal to sound of guns, and its support to the voice of the mind that created \'\'Doha peace agreement\'\', stressing on the existence of a suitable environment for the success of all peace efforts. Darfur has entered a new practical phase of stability on the ground, Kabir added.
