Upon the directives of HH the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the State of Qatar has provided a financial contribution worth USD100 million to the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces (Humanitarian Assistance Coordination Unit). This contribution comes in the context of humanitarian aid provided by the State of Qatar to the Syrian people in their current ordeal and aims to access emergency assistance to all who need them impartially and without discrimination through coordination with all humanitarian networks operating in the humanitarian field in favor of the Syrian people. This contribution emanates from the Qatari government and people’s shouldering of their humanitarian and fraternal responsibility since the beginning of the crisis towards the brotherly Syrian people and comes to alleviate their suffering and to support them until they get their rights to freedom and dignity and surpass their ordeal which has been continuing for almost two years. The State of Qatar stresses the continuation of its support to the Syrian brothers, commitment to standing by the Syrian people and provision of all kinds of necessary support to them in order to achieve their full legitimate demands.
