More than 400 activists who belong to the civil society associations network "Mourakiboun" received, on Friday, during a ceremony in Tunis, their badges as observers of the October 23 elections in five constituencies (Tunis I, Tunis II, Ariana, Ben Arous and Manouba.) These activists are among the 4,000 observers accredited by the Independent Higher Authority for Elections (IHAE) as part of the "Mourakiboun" network, who had taken part in two training sessions on observation and coverage of the Election Day, in the 27 constituencies at home and abroad. They are independent, neutral, apolitical and impartial volunteers who belong to various social categories (executives, students, civil servants, free businesses, etc.) "Mourakiboun" is an initiative launched by several associations grouped around a common objective which is to ensure an independent observation for free and transparent elections. The network includes the Tunisian Association for Democratic Awakening, the Regueb Association Slogan and Citizenship, the Kasserine Association Culture and Development, the Pact of Committed Competences and the Network of Tunisian Competences in Germany (Tunicomp).
