Queen Elizabeth arrives in Melbourne of Australia

Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh on Wednesday landed in Melbourne of Australia for a four-hour visit. Her Majesty, who wore a floral dress with a bright pink coat and matching hat, and Prince Philip, sported a sombre grey suit, white shirt and a chocolate brown tie, touched down at Melbourne Airport just after 11 a.m. (AEDT) on a sunny Wednesday morning. They were greeted on the tarmac by Victoria\'s state governor Alex Chernov, his wife Elizabeth, as well as Victorian state premier Ted Baillieu and his wife Robyn. From the airport, the Queen will directly be driven to open the new 1.04 billion U.S. dollars Royal Children\'s Hospital, where she will be presented with flowers by separated conjoined twins Trishna and Krishna. The five-year-old Bangladeshi sisters were separated in 2009 at the current Royal Children\'s Hospital, which the Queen opened 50 years ago. The Queen will also visit and mark the 150th anniversary of the National Gallery of Victoria, then she will greet the public at Federation Square where the crowds have already begun arriving in the city center. The royal couple will also attend a private reception at the sate Government House. The Queen last visited Melbourne to open the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
