Senior Hamas leader Ismail Radwan welcomed President Abbas' speech on Wednesday to honor late President Yasser Arafat. The Hamas official told Ma'an that the speech contained positive implications for reconciliation talks and issues of national importance, such as popular resistance and the future of the Palestinian cause. Radwan expressed hope that a positive spirit can be carried into the upcoming meeting in Cairo between Abbas and Hamas leader in exile Khaled Mashaal in order to implement the reconciliation deal signed between the factions on May 4. President Abbas said Wednesday that he will meet with Mashaal in Cairo on Nov. 23.
