Reporters: North Korean army can seize Kaesong Industrial Park

North Korea’s Armed Forces can seize the Kaesong Industrial Park, South Korean reporters said on Thursday. They have covered the talks on further fate of the Kaesong complex, which was set by the DPRK and the Republic of Korea. The North Korean authorities made the statement after the 6th round of talks had yielded no result. South Korea considered Pyongyang’s statement proving that the inter-Korean talks on the Kaesong complex are threatened and cannot be resumed. After the 6th round of talks the North Korean delegation circulated copies of its proposals. North Korea said it’s South Korea is guilty of no agreement has been reached yet. The talks started on July 7. The Kaesong complex has not functioned since the beginning of April when the North Korean authorities banned 53,000 North Korean workers to enter the territory of the complex. Pyongyang linked this fact with the American-South Korean manoeuvres. During the negotiations, South Korea wanted North Korea give guarantees saying Pyongyang will not close the complex for economic reasons. The Yonhap News Agency reported that North Korea ignored the South’s proposal and insisted the complex be immediately resumed without any precondition.
