His Highness Dr. Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, issued an order restructuring Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA). The decree No.36/ Year 2012 stipulated that the Commerce and Tourism Development Authority of the emirate of Sharjah will be an entity enjoying juridical personality and financial and administrative independence, and will have full legal authority to achieve its objectives. The Authority, in cooperation with the private sector and in coordination with the competent authorities, will be responsible for promoting commercial and tourism activities. It s objectives also includes development of tourism resources and their employment for contributing to the development of national economy. The Authority will also strive for the dissemination of tolerance and understanding between peoples of the world . The Authority will be headquartered in the emirate of Sharjah and will have the right to establish branches and bureaus outside the emirate. The decree contains 13 articles and revokes decree No.10 issued earlier in 2007. Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) was established in 1996 by Emiri Decree No. 5.
