
Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov stressed that Russia and Algeria agree on the need to reach a political settlement to the crisis in Syria. In a press conference with his Algerian counterpart, Murad Madlasi, in Moscow on Tuesday, Lavrov said that France is fighting terrorists in Mali and, at the same time, supporting the gunmen who came from Libya to Syria. For his part, Madlasi said that the international community should support the reconciliation process and the national dialogue as to solve the violence in Syria. He hailed the efforts of Russia to hold the international conference on Syria, stressing that fighting terrorism in Lebanon contributed to stabilizing the region.
