Russia confirms its support for national dialogue in Yemen

Russia has confirmed its readiness to provide assistance for conducting the national dialogue conference in Yemen. Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations ,Vitaly Churkin, indicated , in an open session held last night by the Security Council and devoted to the situation in Yemen, to the efforts made by Yemen to emerge from the acute continuing political crisis over two years. He said that the holding of the dialogue conference should be the main goal for the foreseeable future. The Russian official announced that \"Russia is ready to provide also the necessary assistance to the Yemeni authorities in the implementation of this task”, pointing out that Russia is a member of the group of ten countries sponsoring the Yemeni agreements on the peaceful transfer of power. He explained that Moscow is active in this phase through the communication with Yemeni leaders to urge them to cooperate, stressing the significant role should be played by the regional and international community for the success of dialogue in Yemen.
