Russia favors Syrians solving their own problems

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Monday his country still believes that the Syrians should tackle their domestic problems by themselves.The Syrians can solve the crisis on the basis of national consensus through the economic and political reforms that serve the interests of the Syrian people, a Foreign Ministry statement quoted Lavrov as saying.The minister made the remarks during a phone conversation with Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby.Al-Araby briefed Lavrov on the efforts being made by the League to host a national all-inclusive dialogue between the Syrian government and opposition.The minister lauded the League\'s effort as helpful in averting any foreign interference in the domestic affairs of Syria, according to the statement.
