Russia has announced its readiness to form a number of units for UN operations abroad to be sent to conflict zones.Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Gen. Valery Gerasimov said, “We are being guided with reserve agreements in our participation in UN missions. They (the agreements) said that Russia will be prepared to assign an air wing, a hospital and an engineering company.”“Peacekeeping is an important task of the Defense Ministry.
