A six-year-old Russian girl died from head injury suffered while driving a motor scooter without a headpiece in Egypt, a spokeswoman for the Russian Tourism Agency told Itar-Tass on Monday. According to the spokeswoman, the accident took place several days ago. “The girl received a head injury while she and her mother were driving a motor scooter. Both were wearing no headpieces,” she said. “The girl’s parents contacted neither their insurance company nor a local guide. They turned to a local doctor who gave the girl a headache pill.” Several hours later, the girl’s condition worsened and the parents contacted the insurer. The girl was taken to a local hospital to be operated. However, the girl died without regaining consciousness. The insurer has recognized this death as an insured event and promised to pay the expenses of the body’s transportation to Russia. According to a spokesman for the Biblio Globus travel company, the girl’s parents will leave for Moscow by a Transaero regular flight later in the day.
