The Cairo-based Russian Cultural Center, under Director Alexei Tefanaan, hosted an iftar banquet for members of the Egyptian Association of Graduates from Russia and other CIS countries at its headquarters in Dokki district on Thursday.
A statement distributed by the center on Friday said that Tefanaan, during the Iftar, greeted the association's members and the Egyptian people on Ramadan, hoping Egyptian-Russian relations will progress further.
Following iftar, the two sides discussed bilateral relations, as well as means of activating a cooperation protocol signed by head Egypt's National Centre for Translation (NCT) Anwar Mogith.
Under the protocol, Egypt will be handed over a list of 100 contemporary Russian books to translate them into Arabic.
The two sides also discussed the upcoming activities to be held at the Russian center during 2016.
